The Society for Social & Economic Liberation
We are a society of creators, brands, manufacturers, service providers, marketers, founders, and advocates — building paid opportunities, data access, tooling, communities, agencies, and partnerships for everyone who actually makes this economy run.
§ 1
The contradiction
Recommendation algorithms, livestream commerce, and the labor of millions of individual creators, brands, manufacturers, and service providers now produce more value than the ownership structure around them was built to hold. They supply attention, trust, originality, products, and service — the actual substance of the economy. Platforms hold the algorithm, the payment rails, the data, and the contracts.
Every unexplained split, every algorithm change, every sudden deplatforming is that gap, felt one person at a time. Organized, it becomes something else: a shared material interest, acted on together.
Zoom out and the same gap shows up at the top of the economy, not just inside platforms. A lot of the capital behind those platforms sits with a small number of asset managers — BlackRock, Vanguard, State Street — plus private equity, paid in fees on what they manage, not on whether any single company gets more productive or whether its profit ever reaches a person's actual life. SSEL's model is built as the opposite bet: point captured value at things people can use directly — housing, food, medicine, education — instead of letting it disappear into a fee structure with no obligation to show up anywhere real.
One real example: in June 2026, TikTok Shop cut the creator-commission caps it lets sellers offer — in beauty, supplements, and home goods, from roughly 20% down to 10–15%, with no transition window. The platform set the ceiling; brands and creators split what was left.
§ 2
What we're actually building
Advocacy, as an actual practice — not a mission-statement word. Organizing creators, brands, manufacturers, and service providers when a deal falls through or a platform doesn't hold up its end. This isn't a creator union — it's standing for everyone doing real work in this economy, turning individual grievances into the kind of aggregated numbers a company, or a lawmaker, has to answer to.
Now
- Organizing creators, brands, manufacturers, and service providers around new opportunities & specific grievances
- Generating and aggregating paid opportunities for creators, plus free coaching and creator tooling, through the Creator App
- Aggregating creator, brand, and manufacturer numbers into real bargaining leverage against platforms
- Early relationships in federal policy, through the Congressional Creators Caucus
- Direct AI policy advocacy, as those federal relationships develop
Soon
- A funded floor — housing, food, medicine — that this work is meant to build toward, not what SSEL does on day one
- A mass political movement — the long horizon, not the near-term task
§ 3
How it's structured
Two bodies, two legal forms, one relationship: commercial revenue funds organizing capacity.
Cult Content
The commercial engine. A TikTok Shop-certified affiliate agency proving the mechanism works at small scale.
SSEL
The organizing body — for creators, brands, manufacturers, and service providers alike. Building standing inside the industry and leverage in Washington — the same leverage a funded floor of access will eventually stand on.
§ 4
The floor
Not the founding activity. What organized leverage is meant to fund, over time.
This is the long-term destination, not the near-term task — a floor under everyone doing real work in this economy, not just the ones who can already afford one. It's what the organizing, the Creator App, and our partnerships are meant to build toward, not something SSEL does on day one.
How we get there
A funded floor doesn't happen in one step. Each stage below is meant to generate more durable surplus than the one before it — the floor gets funded by what these actually earn, not by asking for it directly.
The Creator App
Live in prototype now — paid opportunities and bargaining leverage, aggregated in one place. Proof of mechanism, not yet a funding source.
Events and creator activations
Creator Carnival is the working model — in-person gatherings that generate revenue through sponsorships and ticketing, and put organized creator numbers in front of brands directly.
A brand incubator
Not yet built. The plan under discussion: extend Cult Content's agency expertise into equity or revenue-share stakes in the brands it helps launch — a funding line independent of hourly agency work.
The funded floor
Once the stages above generate surplus beyond what they cost to run, that surplus is what pays for the floor — not before.
§ 5
Where this stands
DC is the pilot. The plan is to repeat it — new cities, new cultures, new languages — once it's proven here.
